Glass set is 25+ years old %26amp; has film on outside that I can't remove.
HELP!!!How do you remove the film from clear drinking glasses. I have tried toothpaste, baking soda, CLR %26amp; CitricAcid?
Put your glasses in the dishwasher....make sure you do not put any silver or aluminum with the dishes or you will have a mess.
Put a bowl in the bottom of the dishwasher. pour one cup of liquid bleach in the bowl. Run the dishwasher through the normal wash cycle but do not dry. (this is important)
Fill bowl again with one cup of white vinegar and let the dishwasher go through the entire cycle. This will not only remove the film from your glasses but from your dishwasher too.

This set is glass and not plastic?
If you have habitually been running them through the dishwasher, it may be difficult to remove the film. The ';film'; may even be etching that the dishwasher has done to your glassware- dishwashers are notorious for this type of issue!
Lime-A-Way is really the best product to clean glassware if it has a film on it that you can't remove (ie hard water stains).
Sounds like you have tried just about everything. Good luck. I sure hope you can find something to get the rest of the film off the set!
You can try some vinegar but sometimes glass gets etched and there is nothing you can do to clean it.
Have you tried soaking them in vinegar?
I say use vinegar... Let them sit for awhile.
