You eye sight has something to do with the shape of the eye. Our eye sight becomes worse especially in teens because our body adopt faster.
Especially now days when people spend so much time staring at monitor that is mere two feet away, our eyes adjusts to that. Then we buy glasses to see things far away, and it adopts again making it even worse until around age of 22 where it doesn't change shape as fast.
When you squint your eyes, it squeezes the eye in certain way that allows the eyes to see clearer.
Above person mentioned pin-hole effect, that is partially true but rather then squinting the eye, it works far better if you use your hands to create pin-hole effect.Without glasses text is out of focus, but if I screw my eyes up it becomes clear. How does this happen?
When you squint, you put pressure on the eyeball, changing the shape slightly so that the lens can focus on the retina where it is supposed to. When you relax your eye, it goes back to it's usual shape where the lens is focusing the light in the wrong place.Without glasses text is out of focus, but if I screw my eyes up it becomes clear. How does this happen?
When you squeeze the eyes with the lids the tears accumulated between the eyes the lids and the surface act like a lens, like you look through a plastic bag filled water(also a lens).
This is an effect called the pin-hole effect. I'm in a hurry so I don't have time to explain it now, but you should be able to find an explanation in google
They warned you IT would ruin your eyesight.
